Svetlana Zhurova (born 1972) is a Russian speed skater and politician. She achieved international recognition as an athlete, competing in four Winter Olympic Games and winning a gold medal in the 500 meters at the 2006 Turin Olympics. Known for her speed and determination, Zhurova also earned multiple World Championship medals during her career. After retiring from professional sports, she entered politics, becoming a member of the State Duma with the United Russia party.
