KijArA Shidehara Biography (1872–1951) was a Japanese diplomat and politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1945 to 1946, shortly after World War II. He was known for promoting peace and international cooperation, a policy later called “Shidehara Diplomacy.”
As Prime Minister under the Allied Occupation, he worked on Japan’s democratic reconstruction and recommended Shigeru Yoshida as his successor. Shidehara is remembered for his moderate leadership and contributions to shaping post-war Japan’s pacifist direction.
