Kakuei Tanaka Biography
(1918–1993) was a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1972 to 1974. Rising from humble beginnings, he became influential within the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and was known as a master of political strategy.
As Prime Minister, Tanaka promoted major infrastructure projects and normalized diplomatic relations with China in 1972. However, his career was later overshadowed by corruption scandals, most notably the Lockheed bribery case. Despite this, he remained a powerful figure in Japanese politics for many years.
