Hayato Ikeda Biography
(1899–1965) was a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1960 to 1964. A member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), he is best known for launching Japan’s “Income Doubling Plan,” which spurred rapid economic growth and improved living standards.
His leadership emphasized economic development, political stability, and strong U.S.–Japan relations. Ikeda’s policies laid the foundation for Japan’s post-war economic miracle, making him one of the country’s most influential modern leaders.
