Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945) was an American statesman and political leader who served as the 32nd President of the United States from 1933 to 1945. He is the only U.S. president elected to four terms. Roosevelt led the country through the Great Depression and World War II, implementing the New Deal to revive the economy and expand social welfare programs.
