Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi (1917–1981) was a Pakistani politician and businessman, known as a prominent leader from Gujrat. He started his career as a police officer before entering business and later politics. Elahi became a vocal opponent of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and was repeatedly jailed during Bhutto’s rule. He played a central role in the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and laid the foundation for the influential Chaudhry political family of Gujrat. In 1981, he was assassinated in Lahore, an event that marked a turning point in Pakistani politics. He is remembered for his opposition to authoritarian rule.
