Description
Anthony Charles Lynton Blair, born on May 6, 1953, in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007. A member of the Labour Party, he modernized it under the “New Labour” banner, leading the party to three consecutive general election victories.
As Prime Minister, Blair focused on public service reforms, the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland, and closer ties with the United States. However, his decision to support the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 remains highly controversial. After leaving office, he founded the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, focusing on governance and policy worldwide.
