Amber Rudd Biography , born on August 1, 1963, in London, is a British politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2010 to 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, she held several senior government roles, including Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change (2015–2016) and Home Secretary (2016–2018).
As Home Secretary, she dealt with security and immigration issues but resigned in 2018 over the Windrush scandal. Later, she also served as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions before leaving politics in 2019. Rudd is known for her centrist views and focus on energy, climate, and social policy.
