William Jefferson Blythe Jr. (1918–1946) was an American businessman and the biological father of former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Blythe served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in the furniture and retail business. He died in a car accident shortly before Bill Clinton’s birth. Although he did not live to see his son grow up, Blythe’s legacy continued through Clinton’s life and political career. His early death and family circumstances shaped the upbringing of Bill Clinton, who later became the 42nd President of the United States.
