Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (born 17 July 1939) is the Supreme Leader of Iran, the highest authority in the country, a position he has held since 1989 following the death of Ayatollah Khomeini. He previously served as Iran’s President from 1981 to 1989. Khamenei is a prominent Shia cleric and political leader, known for shaping Iran’s domestic and foreign policies, guiding the military and judiciary, and influencing cultural and religious affairs. Throughout his leadership, he has played a central role in promoting Iran’s revolutionary ideals and maintaining the structure of the Islamic Republic.
